Work for us

Lancashire is a place we're very proud of, and we take very seriously the role the county council plays in serving its residents, businesses and visitors.

We recently celebrated Lancashire Day and took the opportunity to honour our wonderful staff.

We're sure you'll agree, we have some amazing people working here – and it's fantastic to be able to celebrate them. We hope you enjoy watching the video.

About us

Lancashire is the fourth largest local authority in England and spans twelve districts that cover a huge geographic area and a wide range of communities both urban and rural.

Our remit is substantial, varied and complex, delivering a wide range of services to the 1.2 million people who live here. But our purpose is simple, we exist to serve the people of Lancashire by working as efficiently and effectively as possible to prioritise the services they need and want. We also offer numerous opportunities to work across a variety of professions, geographical areas and diverse communities.

The county council frequently gains national recognition thanks to our exceptional efforts in service delivery and we value the contribution each member of staff makes to Lancashire County Council's success. Working for us means joining a team that not only recognises our achievements, but also works together to face whatever challenges come along.

Join our team and we'll offer you excellent opportunities to progress and do new things, a commitment to support you, and opportunities to influence and improve the way we work. In return for your passion and expertise we offer all our staff a generous benefits package.
