Continuing Professional Development
We offer a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for teachers. We offer a central CPD programme at Museum HQ in Preston which you can book on to and we can also bring the CPD to you in school.
Build and expand on your current knowledge and expertise in a relaxed, flexible, dynamic and challenging way. All sessions are designed to inspire, engage and stimulate your learning whilst providing fresh tools, models and ideas to take back to the classroom.

- Substantive and disciplinary skills
- Local history
- History channeling using music and songwriting to support the development of history
- Using magic in the classroom to develop numeracy and literacy skills
- Storytelling
Other specialist sessions including Dark Ages, Boudica, Maya, Greeks, how to use objects in the classroom.
We can offer these fantastic experiences for free to Lancashire County Council schools in thanks to those who continue to fund us through the yearly de-delegated budget. Charges will apply for non-Lancashire County Council schools.
