Healthy weight
Maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
It will also:
- lower your cholesterol
- lower your blood pressure
- reduce stress on your joints
- improve your breathing
- reduce fatigue
- help you sleep better
If you're ready to take the first step to losing or maintaining a healthy weight and improve your health, we can help.
We run free adult healthy weight programmes in local venues across the county.
Typically, each programme runs for 12 weeks with sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes.
You will be offered weekly support to learn how to manage your weight through:
- healthy eating
- portion control
- understanding food labelling
- changing habits towards food
- stress management
- the importance of sleep
- building physical activity into your daily routine
These supportive sessions are tailored to meet your needs and the needs of the group.
