Equipment
- Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) - a national charity providing impartial advice, information and training on independent living since 1969.
- Disabled Living - a charity which provides impartial information about equipment (assistive technology) and services for disabled adults, children, older people and the professionals who support them
- GOV.UK provides information on Disabled Facilities Grants - You could get a grant from your local council if you’re disabled and need to make changes to your home
- Your local council may be able to help with major adaptations to your home
Find the contact details and website for your local council. - Age UK - Comprehensive information about simple adaptations could enable you to stay in your own home for longer. Includes impartial advice of stair-lifts
- You can also obtain simple equipment from local retailers in your area directly
- If you have an hearing impairment, visual impairment, or a combined hearing and visual impairment there is equipment available to support you
Meals
Luncheon clubs
- Age UK Lancashire activities and events provides information about all events run by Age UK including luncheon clubs in Lancashire.
Lancashire County Council may provide meals on wheels service for people who are unable to prepare or heat meals on their own. You will need to be eligible for a service and be assessed to see if you can get our support.
Maintaining your home
- Age UK operates handyperson services in 80% of the UK.
- Elderly Accommodation Council - provides information and about Home Improvement Agencies in your area.

- The Money Advice Service - information for funding long term care
- PayingForCare - provides access to interactive and impartial information and advice via web www.payingforcare.org or 0808 208 9994.
- Care Navigation Service - whether you buy support privately or we fund some or all of your care we can help by offering advice and guidance to suit your needs, at present we do not offer a vacancy management service. Updates to this will be coming soon.

- Age UK provides useful information on the provision and funding of residential care services and also provides a Care home checklist with the key things to consider when you visit a care home to see if it is suitable.
