Further information about Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Short Break Services

The service offers people with a learning and/or physical disability, who are over 18 years old, a short break away from home. People having a break can stay from on night to a week or weeks stay.

Family and friends are welcome to visit you at any time during your stay.

Accommodation 

Meadowfold is a purpose-built fully adapted building to support up to eight adults with disabilities. It is located on the edge of Great Harwood a semi-rural location.

When staying with us you will have your own private bedroom. Each bedroom has profile beds with pressure care mattress that will ensure your comfort and safety during your stay. There is a self-contained apartment, with a lounge/dining area, kitchen, a double bedroom, and private bathroom. We have four bedrooms with ceiling track hoists that link to an assisted bathroom with an easy-access sensory bath and toilet. We have three bedrooms which are non-adapted with en-suite facilities.

There is a large open plan communal area and a kitchen where you can choose from a varied menu and become involved in preparing meals if you wish. We can cater for special dietary requirements.

There are also two lounges, one is in the communal area, and the other is used as a peaceful space. 

There is public Wi-Fi and iPad / laptop devices that you will be able to use.

The house and gardens are secure to ensure you can relax and enjoy your stay fully and feature seating and flower beds. 

Our staff 

Staff use a person-centred approach and are trained to have a variety of skills and competencies which enable them to offer specialised support to adults who have a wide range of disabilities or complex health needs.

We want you to enjoy your stay and we will support you to develop your independence and individuality. You will be involved in all choices and decisions concerning every aspect of your stay.
