Everything
Fostering can mean everything to those involved. That is the message of our powerful new fostering film 'Everything'.
‘Everything’ follows foster carer Mike and his family on a journey through time with two of the children they have looked after, who are now adults. A surprise 60th birthday party for Mike gives Will and Zara a chance to reflect on how being fostered made a difference to their lives, thanking him for everything.
Watch our film to see the positive impact foster carers have on the children in their care. Could this be you?

Yvonne's story
"I became a foster carer to make a difference never dreaming of the enormous positive difference they continue to make to mine." Yvonne, foster carer
A care leaver from east Lancashire has said he 'found his family' when he met his foster carer. Ryan was living in a shed and battling addiction before being welcomed into Yvonne's home at the age of 17. During that time Ryan earned a qualification from college, went on holiday as well as watching football matches and X-Factor auditions with Yvonne.
Yvonne has been a foster carer for 23 years and says it's a dream come true to call many of those she has looked after 'family'. She has been a foster carer to more than 25 young people.
Some of them stayed with her for a short time, known as respite, while others were long term placements and spent several years living in her home.
Ryan, 25, now works as a support worker and says he chose the career to pass on the kindness that he was shown by Yvonne.

Fostering events
We have a number of events taking place throughout the county, including in-person and online information evenings at County Hall, Preston. You will have the opportunity to meet experienced social workers and current carers and ask questions.
We are looking for people who can foster all ages of children, particularly siblings who need to stay together and teenagers. No formal experience or qualifications are needed, all we ask is that you have a spare room available and a desire to make a difference to a local child's life.
