Safeguarding for the Designated Lead Practitioner

Those who take on the role of Designated Lead Practitioner within the setting.
Course content
This course will provide a detailed overview of the role and responsibilities of the Designated Lead Practitioner for safeguarding. The session will also provide the tools and resources you need to help you in making an informed decision when making a referral to Children’s Social Care. It will support you in understanding:
- Learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews
- Working Well with Children and Families in Lancashire guidance and Early Help principles
- Family safeguarding, the voice of the child and professional curiosity
- The importance of effective multi agency working and your role
- Allegations and role of the Local Authority Designated Officer
Pre-course tasks: You will be expected to complete pre-course tasks to ensure that you are fully prepared for the face to face element of the course. This knowledge is critical to fully understand the safeguarding training and the procedures to follow if you are concerned about a child. Details of the tasks will be in your confirmation letter and email.
A certificate will be awarded that is valid for two years.
