Course content

'Well-being' is a key focus of inspections, appearing 18 times in the Education Inspection Framework. Rightly so, as children's wellness should be a priority for all senior educational leaders. This training explores ways to better understand and promote children's well-being in your educational setting.

This training helps practitioners with developing an ethos and environment that supports children with understanding and expressing their emotions. This in turn will have the power to positively affect the children's lives and supports resilience to emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression.

One in ten children in the UK currently have a diagnosable mental health problem. This is the equivalent to three children in every cohort of 30. This statistic is quickly rising, some equate it to the technological world we live in and the vast channels of information that we readily receive at our fingertips. Others attribute it to pressures those parents are under and the busy lives our children and families lead. You can see that this training should be a high priority for your practitioners and children!

The training includes:

  • Practical strategies, linked to emotional literacy, building resilience and self-regulation
  • Personal, social and emotional development and planning
  • Environment ideas conducive to promoting children's wellbeing
  • Assessments of children's wellbeing
