Course content

  • Know your statutory obligation to teach social development in your early years setting.
  • To understand the sequential or progressive stages of social development learning in early years.
  • To gain an overview of the developmental stages of play.
  • To explore and build a repertoire of practical ideas to strengthen social development teaching in early years.
  • To effectively audit pedagogy, linked to attunement and co-regulation, using the five different domains.
  • To understand the importance of the practitioner's role in establishing a strong keyperson system, that will support the child’s need for attachment and attunement.
