Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for all EYFS practitioners in both the PVI and maintained school sectors, and those who work directly with the children.
Course content
During this session, we will explore the term 'cultural capital', what it means for us and for the children, and how to put the principles behind it into practice. By delving into the theory behind 'cultural capital', we can ensure that practitioners are confident at valuing the knowledge and experiences children in your setting already have and finding exciting ways to expand their horizons.
This course will help you to:
- Understand what is meant by the term' cultural capital'
- Consider what knowledge and experiences might be seen as essential
- Recognise and celebrate the capital that all children already have
- Provide exciting and meaningful opportunities to develop children's cultural capital
