Lancashire Quality Award - Aspiration to Excellence for Childminders
This quality improvement programme, accredited by Lancashire County Council, has been specifically designed for childminders to bring out excellence across every element of your everyday practice, identifying and celebrating what's working well, and where you can make impactful improvements that truly make your setting shine.
The programme consists of eighteen ‘steps’ which support the strengthening of conditions for learning. Reflection on practice within these 'steps' will support your development and have a positive impact on practice and provision in your setting. It is anticipated that the award would take at least 18 months for you to work through.
Childminders will receive ongoing support from a mentor and will access a range of online training sessions to support your reflective practice as well as the invitation to join a monthly virtual meeting to enable you to work through and discuss the steps in turn and share good practice as a group. On completion you will receive your certificate as well as your logo to use within your setting.
The steps include:
- Environments, interactions, routines, key person, routines
- Partnership with parents, leadership and management of your setting, transitions
- Curriculum, birth to three, well-being, characteristics of learning
- Seven areas of learning and development
Cost:
£200 (payable as £20 to enrol followed by a commitment to make three payments of £60 in instalments over the two-year period)
Please note, this is excellent use of any EYPP funding that you may receive as the training will support you to meet the needs of all children more effectively.
