Garstang Town Centre bus priority review

Location: Garstang High Street

Proposals: We have reviewed parking provisions and restrictions on Garstang High Street and the surrounding local road network.  We have also looked at improving bus stops that have not already been made accessible for all and will be raising kerbs, installing boarding points, better shelters (where applicable) and bus stop boxes and restrictions to protect bus stops from parked cars.

Progress: We carried out formal consultation on the proposals and advertised the associated Traffic Regulation Orders from 13/12/2023 to 10/01/2024.  The majority of the proposals received no objections and can therefore be taken forward. We are planning to deliver the bus stop improvements and any proposals that did not receive objections in January 2025.

However, we did receive objections about the proposals for Traffic Regulation Orders on High Street, Market Place and Church Street and we have been asked by Garstang Town Council and the bus operator to look into a Modification of the Order (PDF 267 KB).

Find out more: The scheme is detailed in the concept plans above.

Formal advertising of the Modification to the Traffic Regulation Order is being carried out from  20/11/2024  to 11/12/2024 and is available to view on the Lancashire County Council  proposed traffic regulation orders webpage under the scheme titled Bridge Street, Church Street, High Street and Market Place, Garstang, Wyre Borough) (Revocation, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Limited Waiting Parking Place) Order 202* LSG4/894.17726/AFR
