Emergency plans
The county council produces guidance and plans to ensure we are prepared to respond to emergencies. These plans are:
- Animal diseases
- Chemical incidents (Operation Merlin)
- Coastal and maritime incidents
- COMAH Sites (Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations)
- Flooding
- Fuel shortage
- Nuclear (Radiation Emergency Preparedness and Public Information Regulations -REPPIR)
- Public Information Before, During, After a Nuclear Emergency
- Pipelines (Major Accident Hazard Pipelines – MAHP)
- Pandemic influenza
- Reservoirs
- Severe weather
The following plans and/or guidance can also be called upon to deal with the consequences of any of the above emergencies.
- Emergency centre plans (Family and Friends Centre, Survivor Reception Centre and Humanitarian Assistance Centre)
- Provision of emergency mortuaries
- Dealing with the media
- Faith plan
