Expansion of Broughton in Amounderness Church of England Primary School

Following a consultation, members of Lancashire County Council's cabinet agreed on 18 January 2024 the proposed expansion of Broughton in Amounderness Church of England Primary School to provide an additional 175 places, by admitting 25 additional pupils to each Reception year with effect from September 2025. This would follow the school exceeding its published admission number by 25 places in 2023/24 and 2024/25 via a temporary expansion within existing accommodation.

All the views of people who took part in the consultation were carefully considered before making this decision.

The council is responsible for making sure there are enough high-quality school places available to meet demand across the county, and the expansion of Broughton in Amounderness Church of England Primary School will help us to do this.
