Expansion of Archbishop Temple Church of England High School
Following a consultation, members of Lancashire County Council's cabinet agreed on 11 April 2024 the proposed expansion of Archbishop Temple Church of England Secondary School to provide an additional 275 places, by admitting 55 additional pupils to each intake Year 7 with effect from September 2025. This would follow the school exceeding its published admission number by 55 places in 2024/25 via a temporary expansion within existing accommodation.
All the views of people who took part in the consultation were carefully considered before making this decision.
The council is responsible for making sure there are enough high-quality school places available to meet demand across the county, and the expansion of Archbishop Temple Church of England Secondary School will help us to do this.
