Changes to where we provide your services
How the proposals changed following the consultation
There were a number of changes following the consultation which were agreed by the Cabinet and are going to be implemented. Here is a summary by district area although there are no changes to the proposals for Hyndburn and Wyre.
Burnley
Burnley City Learning Centre – now to be used as an outreach service for young people aged 12-19+ as well as for conferencing purposes.
Stoneyholme and Daneshouse Young People's Centre – still to be used for young people aged 0–19+ and will be linked to The Chai Children's Centre.
Chorley
Chorley Library – still to be used as a library and service delivery for young people aged 12-19+, children missing education team, welfare rights and youth offending team. However, 0-11 year children's centre services will be provided from Highfield Children's Centre.
Highfield Children's Centre – now providing a children's centre for 0-11 year olds (previously proposed to no longer deliver services from this building).
Fylde
Ansdell Library – still to close but will stay open until the works are completed at St Anne's library.
Lancaster
Halton Library and Children's Centre – to be used as a library and an outreach service for 0-11 year olds. However, the 0-11 year old children's centre service will be provided from Lune Park Children's Centre.
Lune Park Children's Centre – now providing a service for 0-19+ year olds (previously proposed a service for 0-11 year olds)
Morecambe Library – now providing a full library service and support for 12-19+ young people as well as providing a registration service and welfare rights (previously proposed a service for 0-19+ year olds, a satellite library service, registration and welfare rights).
Carnforth Hub Children's Centre and Young People's Centre – now providing services for 0-19+ year olds and the library service will now be delivered from Carnforth library
Carnforth Library – now providing a full library service (previously proposed to no longer deliver services from this building).
White Cross Education Centre – now providing support for families in addition to the previously proposed registration service, 12-19+ year olds and the youth offending team.
Poulton Children's Centre, Morecambe – now providing a children's centre for 0-11 year olds (previously proposed to no longer deliver services from this building).
Pendle
Brierfield Library – was not proposed for further use but is now subject to ongoing consideration.
Preston
Children's Social Care (St Luke's Centre) – services will no longer be delivered from this building and these will relocate to Sunshine Children's Centre.
Sunshine Children's Centre – no longer to be used for 0-11 year olds as a children's centre but to provide a base for children's social care including meetings with families.
Preston East Children's Centre – now providing a children's centre for 0-11 year olds (previously proposed to no longer deliver services from this building).
Ribble Valley
Longridge Library – providing a full library service and support for 12-19+ young people (previously proposed a service for 0-19+ year olds, and full library service).
Mearley Fold Day Centre – now delivering an adult disability day service drop in as well older people's daytime support.
Willows Park Children's Centre, Longridge Civic Centre – now providing a children's centre for 0-11 year olds (previously proposed to no longer deliver services from this building).
Rossendale
Haslingden Library – no longer providing a registration service as this will be provided from Rawtenstall Library but still providing library services and welfare rights.
Rawtenstall Library – will now provide a registration service as well as the library.
Maden Centre, Bacup – will deliver services for 0-19+ year olds and welfare rights, however the library service use of this building is subject to ongoing consideration.
Bacup Library – was not proposed for further use but is now subject to ongoing consideration.
Whitworth Library – was not proposed for further use but is now subject to ongoing consideration.
South Ribble
Wellfield Children's Centre - not to be used as a neighbourhood centre but to be used as a schools training and development facility.
West Lancashire
Ormskirk Mere Brook Day Centre - this is still to be used by older people's daytime support subject to agreement from the owner of the building.
Upholland Children's Centre, St Thomas the Martyr CE Primary School – previously proposed to provide a children's centre for 0-11 year olds but is now subject to further consultation about being used in the future.
St John's Children's Centre (Skelmersdale) - previously not proposed for future use but is now subject to further consultation for providing a children's centre for 0-11 year olds due to its current location best serving the access and reach requirements for the service.
