We, in partnership with Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Natural England, established and manage the Biological Heritage Site system. There are just over 1,200 Biological Heritage Sites which encompass a whole range of habitats (including ancient woodlands, peatlands, wetlands and species-rich grasslands) and species.
We host the Lancashire Environment Record Network, which collects, manages and shares information on the species, habitats and protected areas in the county.
We are the Responsible Authority for the development of the Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy. The strategy will map Lancashire's important habitats and identify opportunities for nature recovery.
