Hospice care for children
Children's hospices provide respite and terminal care for children suffering from life-limiting conditions in a home-from-home environment. Care is provided by the voluntary sector for the child and their family at no cost to them for as long as is necessary, including post bereavement support.

Kentown Children's Palliative Care Programme
Kentown Children’s Palliative Care Programme will help join up the services that support children with life-limiting conditions across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The project will offer a new community focused model of care that builds on established children’s palliative care and support services.
There are three key elements: bringing together nursing care, social care and information and awareness. This will help families to easily access all the help and support they need locally, and in their homes.
A team at Edge Hill University will lead a three-year evaluation of the impact of the Kentown Programme.
