Summary of policy

This is a voluntary aided school – please contact the school for full admission details. To apply for a place at this school, please apply online and use the supplementary information form available from the school.

  1. (a) Looked after children and previously looked after children, This criteria also includes looked after children and all previously looked after children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
    (b) Children with special medical or social circumstances affecting the child where these needs can only be   met at this school
  2. Residence in the parish of Waddington and West Bradford.
  3. A sibling attending school, who will still be attending when the child is admitted.
  4. Children with a parent/guardian worshipping in a church in full membership of Churches Together in England or the Evangelical Alliance or the North West Partnership which is situated in the Parish of Waddington and West Bradford.
  5. Children already enrolled in Waddington and West Bradford CE Primary School's Pre School.
  6. Residence in a neighbouring parish. Residence may be defined as the family home at which the child resides regularly on week days. Where the parents live at different addresses, and there is shared parenting, the address used will normally be the one where the child wakes up for the majority of Monday to Friday mornings. If there is any doubt about this, then the address of the Child Benefit recipient will be used. Parents may be asked to show evidence of the claim that is being made for the address used. A map of the parishes is available in school. Neighbouring parishes are defined as parishes from which we have traditionally drawn pupils i.e., Clitheroe (St Mary’s, St James’ and St Paul’s), Hurst Green, Mitton, Whitewell, Slaidburn, Grindleton, Chatburn and Downham.
  7. Other children

Where there are more applicants for the available places within a category, then the distance between the Ordnance Survey address points for the school and the home measured in a straight line will be used as the final determining factor, nearer addresses having priority over more distant ones. This address point is within the body of the property and usually located at its centre. Where two addresses have the same distance, or the cut-off point is for addresses within the same building, then the Local Authority's system of a random draw will determine which address(es) receive the offer(s).
