Where there are more applicants for the available places within a category, the distance between an applicant’s home and school is measured. Those living nearest to the school by a straight line (radial) measure, centre of the home to centre of school have priority. Distances are measured using (the Council's Geographic Information System), this will be used as the final determined factor, nearer addresses having priority over more distant ones. In the event of a tied distance measurement between address points the Local Authority’s system of a random draw will determine which address(es) receive the offer(s).
