Summary of policy

This is a voluntary aided school – please contact the school for full admission details. To apply for a place at this school, please apply online and use the supplementary information form available from the school.

  1. (a) Children in public care and previously looked after children. This criterion also includes looked after children and all previously looked after children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
    (b) Children with special medical or social circumstances affecting the child where these needs can only be met at this school.
  2. Children who have a sibling attending the school on the date of application and on the date of admission.
  3. Children with a parent/carer worshipping in a church in full membership of Churches Together in England with a priority given to those to whom this applies to either of the two foundation Churches (St. Saviour’s CE and Bamber Bridge Methodist Churches) to a maximum of 6 (20%).
  4. Children whose parents/carers live within the two Anglican ecclesiastical boundaries of Bamber Bridge (St. Saviour’s and St. Aidan’s) excluding the territory west of the A6 by-pass within those boundaries. (Map available from school)
  5. Children who live outside of the parish boundaries described above.

Where there are more applicants for the available places within a category, then the distance between the Ordnance Survey address points for the school and the home measured in a straight line will be used as the final determining factor, nearer addresses having priority over more distant ones. This address point is within the body of the property and usually located at its centre. Where two addresses have the same distance, or the cut-off point is for addresses within the same building, then the Local Authority's system of a random draw will determine which address(es) receive the offer(s).
