Citizenship ceremonies

If your application for British citizenship is successful, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony. You will receive an email or letter of invitation from the Home Office directing you to the Lancashire County Council website. Email citizenship@lancashire.gov.uk to book an appointment for your ceremony.

The citizenship ceremony celebrates the significance of becoming a British citizen and welcomes you into your community.

Citizenship ceremonies are taking place at County Hall in Preston and at the Registration Office in Burnley. These are in a group setting where you will attend with other citizens and guests and a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire will present the certificates.

The ceremony must take place within six months of finding out that your application was successful.

Email citizenship@lancashire.gov.uk if you have any questions.
