Our Cabinet met at County Hall on Thursday 20 March, where they considered and agreed a range of items including:
Local Government Reorganisation – Cabinet gave approval for the Interim Plan to be submitted to Government. You can view our collaborative response here.
SEND inspection response – Cabinet approved the development of the Priority Action Plan and submission of this to the Department for Education and Ofsted by the deadline of 25 March 2025.
The county council elections will take place on Thursday 1 May.
From 4 pm on Friday 21 March 2025 until 10 pm on Thursday 1 May 2025, we will be in the pre-election period.
During the pre-election period, there are restrictions on council publicity and events. The council must not do anything that could be perceived as showing support for any candidate or political party, and we must ensure that the political impartiality of the council and its employees is maintained.
Please refer to the pre-election period guidance for staff to see how your service delivery may be affected during this period and to find out who to contact for further advice.
This guidance applies to all officers of the council and all councillors, including those who will not be standing in the election.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) survey
We are working with an external agency called the Real World Group, who are experts in organisational effectiveness and improved outcomes.
This survey has been designed following the results of our 2024 staff survey and is your chance to share your experiences of EDI at Lancashire County Council.
We will use the results to develop better support and enable everyone to feel comfortable enough to bring their whole self to work.
This 360-feedback tool is a requirement for all people managers to distribute twice a year and will help us measure behaviours across the organisation.
We have updated the information on our intranet to provide more comprehensive details about the assessment process and answer any frequently asked questions.
Individual results are anonymous and will not be disclosed to anyone. The individual requesting feedback will only be able to see the responses from their line manager, all other responses will be displayed as an average score.
If you are a people manager, please send out your requests for feedback by the end of March.
Building security
Please remember to be vigilant and do not allow any unauthorised people to tailgate you into our buildings.
If you see someone acting suspiciously, the power of hello is also good to remember. Simply saying "hello" and asking "can I help you?" will enable you to identify if someone is trying to gain access legitimately.
If you are unsure, or not comfortable challenging, do not let them in and report the incident to your premises manager or security staff.
