Forum of Asian, Black and Ethnic Employees (FABEE)
The purpose of the Forum of Asian, Black and Ethnic Employees (FABEE) is to support Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) staff from across the county council and promote an environment where they enjoy equal opportunities to learn, grow and develop their skills and talents; where employees lead fulfilling work and personal lives and accept responsibility for their actions.
Aims and objectives
We aim to create a diverse and cohesive workforce, support a safe and inclusive working environment, contribute to a culture of respect and equality for all, and encourage and support every individual to reach their full potential.
Our objectives are to:
- Act as a representative staff group of Lancashire County Council, providing advice, influence, support and consultancy to elected Members, managers and employee
- Provide information, advice and guidance on corporate issues about race, religion and belief matters in the workplace and the provision of culturally appropriate services in the communities of Lancashire.
- Increase awareness of race, cohesion, religion and belief across the council as a whole and of the challenges faced by BME communities.
- Work in partnership with other Lancashire County Council network groups and partners on initiatives in line with the county council's equality, cohesion and diversity strategies, corporate priorities and business plan.
- Provide support and a social network to all BME staff. We are providing a safe environment to raise issues on race, and belief and address all forms of discrimination.
- Develop opportunities for personal and professional development for BME employees
- Explore and secure funding streams to support the FABE Network's aims and objectives.
