Employee assistance programme
The employee assistance programme offers you counselling and advice on a variety of personal, family or workplace issues.
The service is provided by an independent mental health company, Wellbeing Solutions. There is no cost to you and all calls are confidential.
Whatever your age, background or role in life, from time to time we all have problems – whether personal, family, or work-related.
Talking to a counsellor or an advisor can help us understand a problem, try a different approach, or just learn how to cope with a situation that we can’t change. Our aim is to help you find your own solution to whatever is worrying you.
There are two ways that you or a family member (living at your address and aged over 16) can book an appointment:
- Call the helpline which is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year on 0800 0542 301. You must use the access code - lccsupport. The service will arrange for either a counsellor or an advisor to call you back at a convenient time chosen by you.
- Via the live chat available from 8am-8pm (outside of these hours you will be directed to ring the helpline which is available 24 hours a day). Visit the website www.employeeassistance.org.uk. Click log in and use access code – lccsupport to open the live chat function.
If you would like the support of a counsellor, your first therapy session will be a telephone counselling assessment. The counsellor may then recommend and arrange a course of weekly counselling to help you overcome a more troubling issue.
If you need professional advice or factual information on any legal, money, health, work or personal issue, they will arrange for a free telephone consultation with one of their specialist advisors.
