About People Services
The creation of our new People Services follows the work completed over the past two years as part of the improvement journey concept and shape programme. This work led to a review of our Human Resources (HR) and Skills Learning and Development (SLD) services.
Following that review of our HR and SLD services the new role of Director of People was established, and a project started to bring together a range of colleagues working to support people across the organisation in order to improve the service provided to our workforce.
Our service
Our new People Services team will develop a one-stop shop for all workforce matters.
This will bring together HR and SLD teams, working closely with other teams so that all people related activity is joined up, and easy to access.
We have been working with the HR and SLD teams as well as engaging with a wide range of senior managers, partner services and staff representatives to develop the People Service during the Spring of 2023 and have agreed that the People Services Team is all about putting people first.
Our purpose is: To empower the Lancashire workforce
Our Vision for the future is: One Team, delivering efficient and effective services
This work is crucial to ensure we have a service that can support the workforce in order to achieve our People Strategy outcomes.
Employee lifecycle
As part of our new service offer, we'll be introducing a new way to access the workforce information you need by introducing the employee lifecycle.
This will filter the information you need on the intranet into the relevant stage of your employment relationship:
- Joining – all about recruitment, induction, probation, agency workers and more
- Working – People policies, support for staff, employee networks and key processes like performance and absence management
- Developing – Training, learning, professional and personal development, apprenticeships
- Rewarding – Pay policy, pay structure and progression, staff benefits, rewards, and recognition
- Leaving – Retirement, notice periods, exit questionnaires and more
- Organisational Development and People related change – change policy, our values and behaviours and big programmes including employee experience and wellbeing
You will start to see this as we make changes over the new few months.
