Preston Bus Summer timetables

From 22 July 2024, Preston Bus will introduce several timing revisions to their network for the summer holiday season, including some general timing amendments to overall service reliability, on the following services:

Service 8  Preston – Moor Nook
Service 19  Preston – Royal Preston Hospital
Service 31  Preston – Savick – Lea

Service 152  Preston – Hoghton – Blackburn – Padiham – Burnley

From 21 July 2024 Transdev's The Blackburn Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will enhance evening service provision on the route with additional Monday to Thursday journeys.

The 2200 & 2300 Friday and Saturday journeys between Preston and Blackburn will now operate all week Monday to Saturday.

The 2028 & 2128 departures from Burnley to Blackburn, that extend through to Preston on Friday and Saturday will also now operate all week Monday to Saturday.

There will also be several timing revisions across the whole timetable to improve overall service reliability.

South Ribble services

Service 113  Preston – Gregson Lane – Bamber Bridge – Lostock Hall – Leyland  Lft 21

From 21 July 2024 Lancashire County Council, utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will introduce a regular Monday to Saturday evening service throughout the route.

These new Monday to Saturday evening return journeys from Preston to Leyland will run generally every hour departing Preston at 1835, 1940, 2040, 2140 & 2240, with a shorter journey at 2320 terminating at Lostock Hall, and returning from Leyland at 1924, 2024, 2124 & 2224.

There will be some minor adjustments to the morning Monday to Friday peak time journeys to improve reliability.

Vision Bus will continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

West Lancashire services

Service 310  Skelmersdale – Ormskirk – Liverpool

From 21 July 2024 Arriva will revise the timetable, with minor adjustments to some school holiday journeys to match school day journey times.

Rossendale services

Service 481  Rawtenstall – Haslingden – Blackburn

From 21 July 2024 Transdev Rosso in partnership with Lancashire County Council, utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will enhance evening service provision on the route with additional journeys

These new Monday to Saturday evening journeys are as follows:

2036 & 2206 from Rawtenstall to Blackburn, and 2336 from Rawtenstall to Haslingden

1947, 2117 & 2247 from Blackburn to Rawtenstall

There will also be several timing revisions across the whole timetable to improve overall service reliability.

Service 483  Rawtenstall – Water – Burnley

From 21 July 2024 Transdev Rosso in partnership with Lancashire County Council, utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will enhance evening service provision on the route with additional journeys

These new Monday to Saturday evening journeys are as follows:

2308 from Rawtenstall to Burnley

2120 & 2220 from Burnley to Rawtenstall

There will also be several timing revisions across the whole timetable to improve overall service reliability.

Preston services

Preston Bus Evening Timetable Reductions PBT Lfts

From 24 June 2024 Preston Bus will revise the following timetables, withdrawing a number of evening journeys on their commercial network:

Service 6 Preston – Brookfield – Red Scar

The 2155 & 2255 Sunday journeys from Preston will be withdrawn, with the last departure from Preston being 2055.  Lancashire County Council has stepped in to provide funding to maintain the 2155 & 2255 Monday to Saturday journeys.

Service 23 Preston – Fulwood – Royal Preston Hospital – Asda

The 2210 & 2310 Monday to Saturday journeys from Preston will be withdrawn, with alternative journeys from Preston are available at 2140 & 2240.

The 2210, 2240 & 2310 Sunday journeys from Preston will be withdrawn, with the last departure from Preston being 2140.

Service 35 Preston – Tanterton

The 2130 & 2230 Monday to Saturday journeys from Preston will be withdrawn, with alternative journeys from Preston are available at 2100, 2200 & 2300.

The 2130, 2200 & 2230 Sunday journeys from Preston will be withdrawn, with the last departure from Preston being 2100.

Service 100 Faringdon Park – Preston – Larches

The 2036, 2136 & 2236 Monday to Saturday journeys from Preston to Faringdon Park and the 1959, 2059, 2159 & 2259 Monday to Saturday journeys from Preston to Larches will be withdrawn. Alternative journeys from Preston to Faringdon Park are available at 2006, 2106, 2206 & 2306 and alternative journeys from Preston to Larches are available at 1929, 2029, 2129 & 2229.

On Sundays, all later evening journeys will be withdrawn, with the last departures from Preston to Faringdon Park at 2106 and from Preston to Larches at 2029.

West Lancashire services

Service 319 Trainlink Skelmersdale – Headbolt Lane – Kirkby

From 9 June 2024 Stagecoach, on behalf of Lancashire County Council, will revise the route and timetable, adjusting the route to serve the new Headbolt Lane Railway Station in Kirkby. Following customer requests, the service will also serve Skelmersdale War Memorial stop at Neverstitch Road. There will be minor adjustments to some journey times to link with trains and improve overall service reliability.

New combined integrated bus / rail ticketing will also be introduced to improve through travel to/from Liverpool Merseyrail and the wider rail network.

On bank holidays most bus service providers generally operate a 'Sunday' service on their routes.

Lancashire County Council's supported bus services will operate a Sunday service on the following Bank Holiday dates:

  • 29 March – Good Friday
  • 1 April – Easter Monday
  • 6 May – May Bank Holiday
  • 27 May – Spring Bank Holiday
  • 26 August – Summer Bank Holiday

Preston Bus September Network Change

Preston Bus are consulting on change to services 6, 8, 19, 23, 31, 35 and 100 from September. The consultation will run until 7 July 2024.
