The Body in the Library quiz
Thank you to all those who entered The Body in the Library Quiz. The verdict is now in and the guilty party was identified as Mr Green – he had claimed to be attending the funeral of musician Henry Lazarus in January 1895, but a check of the entry for Henry Lazarus in Oxford Music Online revealed he didn't in fact die until 6 March 1895 so Mr Green could not have attended his funeral in January.
He may well have had an accomplice too – Mr Peacock's alibi of being involved with the relatively recently established company of Jaeger which had actually been around for 9 years also looks suspect.
The successful detectives have been identified, and their rewards in the form of book tokens will be dispatched shortly.
