European Road Safety

In order to improve road safety the European Community has adopted a new action programme for road safety (2003-2010). At the same time the European Road Safety Charter aims to promote more effective measures for reducing road accidents in Europe. The target is, by 2010, to reduce the number of fatalities by 50%.
