Cat Ninelives In Deepest Trubble

Presented by: Walking Forward Theatre Company

Target Group: 5-9 year-olds

Toured: Spring 2005

'Cat Ninelives..' is a fun packed Road Safety Theatre production aimed at the 5 to 9 year age group.

Using music, larger than life characters and adventure, the show aims to promote the craft of Road Safety to a high-risk target audience. Pedestrian and cycle helmet care are high on the agenda, as well as an overall conditioning of the audience to use 'common sense' and inviting them to make their own choices when on the road.

The show comes complete with set, costumes and sound equipment and the messages are further highlighted by a workpack presented to the school on departure. This workpack is primarily aimed at Key Stage Two and develops the children's recognition, evaluation and imagination within the subject.

The play revolves around 'Catrina Ninelives' who ends up in the banishment land of 'Deepest Trubble' after an accident on her new micro-scooter. Here she meets 'Mystico' a mysterious man who sets her on a quest to win her freedom again. Alginon Loose-Chppings', 'Big Lorry' and 'Professor Hertz Van Rental' all help in their own way, along with 'Pearls of Wisdom'. But all is not what it seems!

Lasting for a maximum of 45 minutes the audience is invited to join in with the learning process and therefore a fun packed and novel way of promoting Road Safety is achieved.
