Teddy Takes A Tumble

Story book for parents and carers of under fives.

A story sequence which explores the need to use appropriate restraints when travelling by car. An unrestrained teddy bear is thrown to the front of a car when the driver is forced to brake harshly. The bear's owner, a small boy, is safely restrained and so obvious comparisons are drawn.

In addition to road safety, this resource covers other health and safety issues. It uses topic webs to help leaders and managers incorporate health and safety education within the topics that many already cover.

Aimed at pre-school group leaders, this illustrates how road safety education can be easily integrated within regular activities.

This A4 booklet selects key road safety themes and identifies activity ideas for children to take part in. It also suggests ways to communicate the activities to parents so that information can be reinforced as they make journeys together with children.

Right Start Child Pedestrian Training Programme

A Practical and progressive programme for children in Reception through to Year 2.

The programme aims to help children acquire the knowledge and experiences to help them become safer pedestrians. The programme operates through schools.

Worksheets, pictorial aids and relevant training for adults taking part are provided by the Road Safety Group.
