10.6 Publicity

We will  raise public awareness of the quality, quantity and availability of all the road safety services.

10.6.1 Public relations

A Public Relations and Marketing team engages engages with all categories of road users and age groups to promote an inclusive service. The team will;
  • support all national and local publicity initiatives under the banner of the THINK campaign
  • provide a forum for sharing and developing MORR initiatives in Lancashire-based companies and organisations
  • support local road safety initiatives from community projects to 20 mph zones
  • expand Lancashire's publicity and marketing strategy Together We Can Make the Difference
  • develop partnerships and links with stake holders to support and enhance national and local initiatives and campaigns
  • pro-actively market all road safety services
  • market training opportunities to ensure drivers have an increased awareness of children in the traffic environment.

10.6.2 ROADlife

ROADlife magazine was developed to raise awareness of road safety initiatives and to improve access to road safety services for the people of Lancashire. The magazine will promote partnership working, highlight the role of stakeholders and use well-known celebrities to show the progress Lancashire is making towards its objective of Travel Easily and Safely. It is produced annually and distributed through existing partners and stakeholders.

10.6.3 e- information

A website will be maintained at www.lancashire.gov.uk/environment/roadsafety to provide up-to-date and localised information to Districts, educational establishments, partnerships, local communities and the general public.
