Lancashire Minerals and Waste Development Framework

Monitoring Reports

The Lancashire Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2006 Monitoring Report is the first report monitoring the policies and proposals of the local plan which was adopted in December 2001. The purpose of the monitoring report is to determine whether the local plan is proving effective in achieving its aims and objectives and to identify any policies which might need to be changed because they are failing or as a result of any new legislation, guidance, statistical or other information becoming available. The monitoring report is seen as part of the process leading to the review and rolling forward of the local plan. This monitoring report presents data on minerals and waste for the period April 2001 to March 2003.

This is the first annual monitoring report to be prepared for the Minerals and Waste Development Framework under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, and was published in December 2005. Local Development Frameworks are expected to be regularly reviewed and revised, with the production of annual monitoring reports seen as the principal mechanism for assessing the development plan’s performance and its effects. Following on from Monitoring Report 1 (above), this report presents minerals and waste information for the period April 2003 to March 2005.

The second annual monitoring report presents minerals and waste information for the period April 2005 to March 2006 (or the most recently available information before those dates).

The third annual monitoring report presents minerals and waste information for the period April 2006 to March 2007 (or the most recently available information before these dates).

The fourth annual monitoring report presents minerals and waste information for the period April 2007 to March 2008 (or the most recently available information before these dates).
