Launch of the Policy and Strategy - Environmental Awareness Days

The week of World Environment Day (6th June 2006) provided the perfect opportunity for the Environment Policy Team to launch Lancashire County Council’s first Environmental Policy Statement and Management Strategy. During this week, two environmental awareness days for Lancashire County Council staff were held.

These events aimed to make staff aware of the Policy and Strategy, and the Council’s commitment to ensuring improvements in environmental performance. They also provided the chance to highlight some of the environmental impacts we all have whilst at work, and the simple steps that can be taken to reduce these. There was opportunity for staff to join the Environmental Pledge Scheme, and to take away copies of the Policy and Strategy.

Members of the Waste Management Team joined us on these awareness days to give advice on recycling, composting and the ‘Real Nappy’ scheme.
