A high quality natural and built environment brings many advantages. It enhances people's quality of life. It encourages inward investment and tourism. Many parts of Lancashire have an outstandingly beautiful natural environment, and the County Council will need to work with partners to take advantage of these assets in ways which both protect and enhance them. In other places, the environment is in decline. In general, these places suffer from other forms of deprivation. It is a high priority for the County Council to work with partners to improve quality of life in these areas, including improving the quality of the natural and built environment.
