There are a wide range of ways of showing on paper what you want to achieve and of providing the necessary information for contractors, specialists and volunteers. Feasibility
Study (Word Document, 34Kb): - Realistic analysis of project
aims and objectives - is it possible to achieve these objectives?
Site
Survey: - Measured base map of the site, showing boundaries,
services, access points and other features important to the project.
Concept
Plans: - Illustration of the groups idea or vision - what the
final project is to look like.
Outline
Proposals: - Good for obtaining outline planning permission and
applying for grant support.
Detailed
Proposals: Can include construction plans, landscaping designs, technical
and specialist details and permissions needed i.e. planning permission.
Cost
Estimates (Excel Document, 18Kb): - Prices for each element of
the project.
Schedule
of Works: - Breaks the project down into manageable tasks and
ensures that everything is done at the appropriate time.
Specification
for Works (Word Document, 27Kb): - Description of how you want
the work done i.e. height of fences, species of trees and plants, width and
depth of trenches or foundations.
Bills
of Quantities (Word Document, 28Kb): - Itemised list of work
with materials, quantities and types, to get a price to get the job done.
