This project was approved by Community Design to create a plan for the regeneration of the historic rose garden in the grounds of Clitheroe Castle. The project was undertaken in conjunction with Ribblesdale Technology College, with support from Ribble Valley Borough Council.
A designer was commissioned to work in consultation with the pupils who participated in as many aspects of the scheme as possible. This included visioning work to assist with scheme design, using their manual skills to help prepare the site, choosing appropriate planting schemes as well as gardening. The pupils were also offered horticultural training as part of a project run by Myerscough College.
The community garden was completed in July 2006 and funded by Lancashire County Council and the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund.
