The NW & Lancashire GTP Consortium has re-opened for applications for the following Secondary Priority Subjects:

 

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Design Technology (DT) and ICT.  

 

The Consortium is NOT accepting applications for PRIMARY or for any other Secondary subjects.

 

It is important that you read ALL of the information below before submitting your completed application:

  • Applicants must submit the Online RegistrationForm via the Consortium Application Portal on the TDA website by 8 March 2012 (Link)

  • The TDA will notify the Consortium when your registration has been submitted

  • The Consortium will then send an acknowledgement via email which will include a supplementary information form for you to complete, the Secondary Application Guidance Notes (2) the Secondary Selection Criteria and details of the selection process for 2012/13 Secondary Selection Process (2)

  • Please ensure that you secure regular access to your emails and notify the Consortium if you do not receive an acknowledgement within 3 / 4 working days of submitting your online registration form. The Consortium is not responsible for failed receipt

  • The Consortium Application Portal will close on Thursday 8 March 2012 (at 23:59pm)

  • Completed applications (see checklist below) must be received by the Consortium in hardcopy no later than 10am on Tuesday 13 March 2012

  • Applications will be checked on receipt but will only be considered after the closing date

  • All applications will be accepted subject to TDA Allocations. We are unable to confirm at this time the number of places or the level of funding for 2012/13.

 Completed Application Checklist

 

  • Please check that ALL sections have been completed

  • Please ensure that the declarations have been signed and dated

  • The following documents must be submitted in hardcopy:

    • the completed TDA Online Registration Form

    • the completed Consortium Additional Information Form

    • a photocopy of your English and Maths GCSE certificate (Primary applicants must also include Science). Provisional statements of results' slips are NOT acceptable. If you have lost or misplaced your original certificates please contact the relevant exam board for a copy certificate or a certified statement of results, or contact AQA on Tel: 0161 953 1180. Please arrange this as early as possible as this process takes approximately 28 working days

    • a photocopy of your degree certificate and transcript

    • if any of your qualifications were gained overseas you must also include a  validation letter from UK NARIC

    • your Professional Statement attached as a separate Word document. Please refer to the Guidance Notes and (Note: you may replace, add to or amend the statement you entered on the TDA portal). 

  • Please ensure that there is sufficient postage to ensure safe delivery of your application (a normal first class stamp is not sufficient)

  • Please retain a copy of your full application - if short-listed you will need to bring 2 additional copies of each form and your Professional Statement with you to the Application Seminar.

 Please Note: We will be unable to accept or process your application if either form is missing or incomplete, or if the required documents have not been included. Your application will be returned to you. This may result in your application missing the deadline.


Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a place with this Consortium applicants must hold the following qualifications at the point of application::

  • a GCSE at grade C or above, or a recognised equivalent qualification, in English Language and Mathematics ( Note: for Initial Teacher Training (IT) Level 2 Numeracy & Literacy qualifications are not recognised as equivalent).
  • a first or second class honours degree (e.g. BA or BSc) relevant to the age range/subject for which you are applying

Please Note:

  • Applications will only be accepted from candidates who meet all of the entry requirements and the Consortium's Selection Criteria
  • Applications can only be processed if all sections of each form have been completed and all relevant documentation received
  • All candidates must hold the relevant GCSE and Degree qualifications prior to the closing date of the intake for which they are applying
  • Applicants must include a copy of their GCSE certificates and their Degree certificate & transcript when returning their completed Application
  • The Consortium accepts Applications from candidates with or without the support of a school
