Fishing People

The fishing families formed a closely-knit community but, situated at the heart of a seaside resort, they were also open to outside influences. They quickly exploited tourism for additional income and had access to all the leisure facilities - parks, theatres, cinemas, carnivals, regattas etc - available to the holidaymaker. It was a generally prosperous and happy community.
