Inshore Fishing
At the end of the run the wooden trawl beam was hoisted back onto the deck followed by the net and its catch. The catch was roughly sorted and sometimes emptied into large barrels or baskets prior to a more thorough process of sorting on the boat. One hazard to avoid was the weaver fish (sting fish) which was sometimes taken aboard with the catch. Its sting was poisonous and could be fatal.
