Stern Draggers

A later development in trawler design in the late 1960's and 70's gave rise to Stern Trawlers. The gear was shot and hauled directly astern of the vessel instead of the more traditional method over the side of the vessel. About eight of these stern trawlers worked out of Fleetwood. Conditions for the crew were significantly improved on these trawlers.
