Coastal Fishing
Shrimps were often caught by boats using trawl nets dragged along the sea bed but some fishermen used push nets instead. These wide-mouthed nets were attached to a long pole and pushed along the water's edge to catch the shrimps feeding in the shallows. They could go where boats, carts and tractors could not.
