However you travel, Lancashire is easily reached from all over Britain. With one of the best motorway networks in the country, Birmingham and Glasgow are just a few hours away.

Picture: MotorwayThe M6 runs through the middle of Lancashire from north to south and linked to it is the M55, which takes you straight into Blackpool. The countryside areas of the Ribble Valley and Lancashire’s Hill Country are reached by the M65, M66 and a modern network of excellent roads.

The main London – Glasgow rail route passes through Lancashire and Picture: Railwayconnections can be made to the rest of the county; and for both national and international air travellers, Manchester International Airport, Liverpool John Lennon and Blackpool Airport provide a gateway to the region.

Lancashire County Council is committed to reducing road casualties, raising awareness of road safety issues and developing partnerships to help build a safer Lancashire.
