AbigailsAttic

Handmade Felt Accessories by Lesley King

As part of a small Christmas gift range for Lancaster Castle, Lesley King has designed individually handmade felt accessories to sell in the Castle shop.

Titled AbigailsAttic, Lesley makes felt to produce beautiful accessories such as scarves, bags, and jewellery; making items a unique piece of art to each purchaser.

Her particular interest is to incorporate fibres or fabrics or even decorative stitch during the felting process producing unusual effects which transform the felt from a worthy material to a luxury textile.

Many of the designs are inspired by the natural world such as underwater coral reefs or the Lancashire moorland.

This beautiful range is now on sale at Lancaster Castle.  For further information please telephone the Castle on Tel: 01524 64998

Lancashire Food

In Lancashire, we are rightly proud of our food heritage. When visiting one of our museums, make sure you visit the cafe and shop, where you will find real Lancashire dishes to taste and fresh local produce to take home.

Art and Sculpture

Purchase Your Own Unique Piece of History

When you visit Lancaster City Museum, not only will you have the chance to see the iconic Roman cavalry tombstone, but you will also have the opportunity to purchase your own unique piece of history!

Inspired by the discovery of the Roman tombstone back in 2005, local ceramic artist Wyn Abbot has handmade a range of wall sculptures and roman soldiers that are only on sale at the Lancaster City Museum.

Each piece is a totally unique, individually hand made sculpture that has not been mass produced and will be completely different to anything else made by the same artist. Should you wish to make a purchase you will be the owner of a unique piece of art.

Made from the finest clay and fired to a stoneware temperature all pieces are suitable for the outdoors.

Some of Wyn’s pieces are already on display and can be purchased from the Museum shop.
